FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
eCourse
Q. How quickly can the eCourse be completed?
A. Reasonably speaking, you should give yourself ample time to absorb all the information
found in both eBooks, practice sheets and exam preparation. I would say, a good 2 weeks. You can however, ‘cram it’ in one
week’s time if need be, but keep in mind there are 150+ short pages to the eBooks combined.
Q. How easy is it to pass the makeup and business course exam?
A. The test is pretty comprehensive. If you use your ebook(s) to guide you and complete
all illustrations in your ‘Extra’s Pack’ to the best of your ability… you should pass the exam without too much extra
effort.
Q. Can you purchase each Volume separately at different times? A.
Yes. The eCourse has 4 separate purchase price options for your convenience.
You may purchase both volumes together or at different times. See eCourse under shopping cart items for your
options.
Q. Is the eCourse returnable? A.
Yes. You must first call Shades of Perfection to receive a Return Manufacturer Authorization number (RMA). NO returns will
be accepted and credited without this RMA number. Pick an appropriate block of time to ensure you have ample time for your
course evaluation before making your decision. As long as the above condition, as well as, any other currently applicable
conditions underlined in our Return Policy are met, your return will be honored without questions. There will be no
exceptions. Refer to the Customer Service section on the Home Page of the site for the details on our Return Policy.
Certification
Q. Do you need a State Board License to be a media makeup artist? A. No. What you need is experience and a portfolio book to show your experience initially. Any higher education is always a good idea. To give you an example: Lisa has a board certified Cosmotologist's License, but received Certification for Media Makeup Artistry at Award Studios. She has accomplished a great deal with her higher education in media without a Board Certified Makeup License.
Q. Does Shades of Perfection give a certificate upon completion of this course? A. Yes. Upon completion of the eCourse with a 70% higher passing grade, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement and a Product Discount Confirmation Letter.
Q. What does this letter provide me? A. Upon receipt of your Product Discount Confirmation Letter you will be eligible to receive some industry discounts on products and 40% off MAC makeup by presenting your certification to MAC retail stores.
Q. What are the requirements for the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG)? A. Please refer to the Union vs. Non Union section provided in your eCourse Flipbook Volume #2 for indepth information on this subject.
Makeup/Skincare/Accessories
Q. Are all of your products professional to the industry? A. Yes. We have two professional lines of makeup and will be adding ‘our own’ line in the near
future. Our skincare line is used in many Dermatology offices and is not tested on animals. Our accessories are continuously
being updated, and are only professional products to the industry. You will not see these products in drugstores or
department stores.
Q. Can we purchase samples of these products? A. Yes.
For the entire skin care line, we offer sample sized items. And, for our accessories we can send you 1 sample for each item
that lists ‘Samples Offered’. To see these items, go to our shopping cart. Unfortunately, our makeup line does not come in
sample sizes.
Q. Is the makeup/skincare/accessories returnable? A. With
the exception of makeup, all of our products are returnable if they are unopened and in their resellable and purchased
condition within a 72 hour period. Again, please be ready to evaluate all purchases upon receipt. This is your
responsibility. Additionally, you must receive an authorization code by calling Shades of Perfection at (610) 975-0640 before
hand to ensure returns. Please refer to our Return Policy in the Customer Service section on our Home Page of our site for
more details.
Bags/Cases
Q. Are your bags and cases industry standard? A. Again, all of our products are professional and unique. You will not see our makeup bags in
department stores, and our cases are custom made. They are beautifully designed cases durable with a visual
appeal.
Q. Are the bags and cases returnable? A. Yes. Again, you have a
72 hour grace period, and may return bags or cases after receiving an authorization code from Shades of Perfection. The bags
and cases must be in their resellable condition without damage and in their original boxes. The customer is responsible for
paying return shipping costs. Refer to our Returns Policy under Customer
Service.
Brushes/Portfolios
Q. Are the makeup brushes durable? A. There are myriad of different types of brushes out there. So many brushes are not made
well. They have problems with the bristles falling out onto a person’s face. In addition, a poor quality brush will 'streak' your makeup
application. The brushes we carry are made of the finest of
hair, and will last you for years without bristles falling out and/or streaking.
Q. Are your portfolio books leather? A. Yes. The outside cover is a very hard leather product to alleviate scratches and
tears.
Q. Are the brushes and portfolios returnable or exchangeable? A.
Yes, within the 72 hour period. Within this time you need to check all your items in your package thoroughly. If you decide
to return something, you must receive an authorization code from Shades of Perfection. You then have up to a 7 business days
for us to receive the returned items for proper credit to your account.
Methods of Payment
Q. Do
you accept other methods of payments besides Visa/Mastercard? A. We only accept Visa
and Mastercard at this time. We will be considering other forms of payment in the future.
